Even Nature Wants to Honor Labor Day!

Every living thing should honor all of the hard working men & women of the USA…even bugs!!

This guy was outside earlier just showing off his patriotic colors….

Never seen any insect like this…not this type and certainly not with these colors!

But…the clouds are moving in and I’m sure we will have some rain this afternoon. I just thought the white FedEx plane against the dark clouds was interesting…but didn’t even see the bird in the lower right corner until I was ready to share with you!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

**PS** Thanks so much to a random visitor, Michael Bruce, who filled me in and gave the link to info on the very cool patriotic bug:

"Hi, Just bumping around the I.net...Insect in your photo is a moth, specifically a Polka Dot Wasp Moth. It utilizes mimicry to fool potential predators into leaving it alone. "

Thanks a bunch, Michael!

I've seen those bugs here, they're...I think they may be in the wasp family but they have never stung...love the fed ex plane in the sky...hope they're bringing me goodies!
Happy Labor Day...don't labor hard!

Cassie,
Do your friends love Burlington? I am sure you know that this is where I grew up and then returned for a few years as an adult. Both my boys were born there. Where do your friends live? I have a blog friend who lives in Williston and is in need of friends. She moved to VT from Missouri 5 yrs ago and is finding it difficult to fit in... maybe they would "click".

Are you sure that insect wasn't just hanging out near a messy house painter?? Looks like paint spatters!
