Birthday Shout Out

Happy Birthday to my little sister, Dawn! I picked out a couple of special things I knew she would like. We are both primitive lovers but we aren't surrounded by it the way we used to be.

This little doll is wearing a dress that is completely hand sewn...even the little pleats and neck ruffle. But, this sampler really says something special. It's hand made by "Tilda" from High Button Shoe. I saw it offered on one of the primitive galleries and let her know I needed it...she sent it out the next day! She used to make similar samplers for us when we owned our shop a few years back. She does bigger ones with pieces of American flags and pictures/sayings from the Civil War...just amazing, one of a kind art.

And I made this little birthday girl using a vintage photo and a peat pot. You can't really tell in this picture, but her cheeks are pink and she's holding those old millinery flowers in her hand.

Anyway...Happy Birthday to you, little sister ;)
