Onto Christmas....

How was your Thanksgiving?  Ours was quiet and peaceful..we chose to have dinner out and the meal was beyond our expectations.  But...it was good to be home and the evening spent watching some old movies and favorite TV shows was the perfect ending!

But...big shopping day today (I am still not too sure if I want to get in the middle of it all) and the beginning of the Christmas decorating.  We opt for a live tree and that will be on the schedule for pick up tomorrow.

I sure would like to have one of these candles:

And...I would like to have the Heart in Hand beeswax ornament:

I think Misi, of Gable House Goodes, will be shipping the last of her Holiday wares in the next few days...so if you know someone that would appreciate the artistry of these pieces, better get over there and place an order!  These are really beautiful...

Hustle and Bustle...

I feel it...the hustle and bustle of the Thanksgiving Day/start of the Holiday season.  Even though this year should be pretty simple for us, I need to remind myself that "less is more" .

So,  here's a sweet picture to help me keep that in mind.  Simple.

Just A Few Days Left...

Autumn is almost over...I'm gonna miss this...

But...this is where I am headed today....

Yep...up those stairs, into the attic!  Must start sorting and choosing what we will be using for Holiday spirit this year.  I am lucky enough to have a full week off for Thanksgiving Break (one of the perks of working for a school) and I always tell myself that I will get everything decorated before December 1st.  Never happens...never.  I don't know why...but, I end up finishing everything a couple of days before Christmas and then it's time to put it all away.

This year will be different!  **sigh**

Anyway...I'll keep you posted.

Are You A Stamper?

How cute is this?  I wish I could get myself together and do this.  I am always in awe of someone's ability to put something like this together. I've bought lots of stamps, lots if paper, lots of ink, lots of doo-dads.. but I've never even come close to making something like this.  Certainly not for lack of effort.

Anyway....love this!

More Than Huck Finn....

My sister is really involved in genealogy and has traced our family back to the 1500's! Along the way she discovered that we are related to Mark Twain...and this quote, besides everything else he has done, makes me proud to say that.

In Florida....

This is what I saw when I pulled into work at 7am....yikes!!

Stay warm, wherever you are....
